Cookie Policy

Effective date: June 18, 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide information to site owners.

In addition to cookies, websites may use related technologies such as localStorage — a browser storage mechanism that keeps data on your device but is never sent to a server. This policy covers both.

2. What We Use

DQVerify currently uses a minimal amount of browser storage — only what is strictly necessary to provide the service and remember your preferences.

NameTypePurposeExpires
dqe-theme-colorslocalStorageRemembers your light/dark mode and color theme preference so it persists across visits.Until cleared by browser
nuxt-color-modelocalStorageStores your preferred color scheme (light or dark) to avoid a flash of incorrect theme on load.Until cleared by browser

localStorage items are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.

3. No Tracking Cookies

We do not currently use:

  • Analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude)
  • Advertising or retargeting cookies (e.g. Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Google Ads)
  • Session cookies that track your behaviour across pages
  • Fingerprinting or cross-site tracking of any kind

No consent banner is shown because there is currently nothing to consent to beyond the functional storage listed above.

4. Third-Party Services

The DQVerify website is hosted on Google Cloud. Google Cloud may collect server-side access logs (IP address, referrer, user-agent, timestamps) for operational purposes. These are not cookies and are governed by Google Cloud's Privacy Notice .

Our validation API is powered by DQE Software. When you submit data through the live demo widget, that data is processed in real time and is not stored. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

5. Your Choices

Because we only use functional localStorage, there is no tracking to opt out of. You can clear the stored preference data at any time through your browser:

  • Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove All

Clearing this data will reset your theme preference to the default on your next visit. It has no other effect on your use of the site.

6. Future Changes

We may add analytics or other third-party tools in the future. If we do, we will update this policy, add a cookie consent mechanism where legally required, and display the updated effective date at the top of this page.

We will not introduce tracking cookies without first updating this policy and, where required by law (e.g. for users in the EU/EEA or California), providing an opt-in or opt-out mechanism.
